I Have My Geeky Disney Moments

I've always thought of myself as a relatively cool guy, but every once in a while I have my unapologetically geeky Disney moments. One that comes to mind was when I wore my classic "EPCOT Center" T-shirt during a visit to the Disneyland Resort. Even the Cast Members were thinking, "Wrong coast, dude." Or there was the time I approached someone at a party who was wearing a Star Wars Weekends shirt and started talking about Disney only to realize they weren't really familiar with the event. (I can't remember why they were wearing the shirt in the first place.)

Well, today I've had another one of those moments — albeit a more private and less embarrassing one. Sometimes when I have a lot of work to do, I'll close the door to my office and listen to music. Usually I'll troll MySpace band sites and listen to songs, but today I was in a Disney mood. I also had overheard a coworker talking about her recent trip to Walt Disney World. So I connected my Zune to my work computer's speakers and started listening to A Musical History of Disneyland. While taking a break, I walked into our kitchen area and found that my coworker had purchased candy during her trip and left it for everyone. Score!

I guess the embarrassing part of this story is that I'm sharing my joy in discovering Disney candy at work. It tastes like normal candy, but that's besides the point.
